If you can drag yourself away from the pool, there are plenty of things to see and do, from horse riding and pirate boat trips, to quad bikes and Turkish Baths.

Shops, Restaurants and Bars

Our villa is situated in Ovacik, with the closest town being the lively Hisaronu. Here an abundance of shops, bars and restaurants await you. The town is a 30-minute walk away, or a very short taxi ride (taxis can be hailed by pressing the green button on the lamppost outside the villa and they will arrive within a couple of minutes).

However, within 5 minutes’ walk of the villa, there are numerous bars, restaurants and shops so everything is on your doorstep.

Ovacik also has a very large waterpark, opened in 2020. So ideal for a day out with the kids, without having to travel too far.

Beaches

Turkey’s most famous beach and lagoon – Olu Deniz – is only 10 minutes away by taxi or dolmus. Some areas of the beach provide a free shuttle service and will collect you from the villa and bring you back at the end of the day. Failing that, you could book yourself a tandom paragliding experience, jump off Babdag mountain, and land on Olu Deniz beach 40 minutes later!

Kaya Koy, the “Ghost Village”

Just outside of Hisaronu, take the picturesque walk (or 5-minute taxi) to Kaya Koy, or “Ghost Village”, to see an old Greek settlement that had 30,000 inhabitants, but has been untouched and uninhabited since 1923. Enjoy a meal or cold drink as you look at the remains of what once was a thriving town.

Fethiye

10 minutes’ drive from the villa is the bustling harbour town of Fethiye. Get yourself a Turkish rug or sample the local spices in the shopper’s paradise that is the Bazaar. Or watch the boat trips head out for the day as you have a beer on the promenade. Stay for sunset, enjoying fresh fish from one of the many restaurants on the seafront.

Saklikent Gorge

Further afield, sign up for a much loved and fun day on a jeep safari, which will also include a trip to Saklikent Gorge. Enjoy a stroll through the gorge, or have a river raft experience.
